Solar Calculator

How much money can you save by using solar power? Here's a solar calculator; it's a good place to start! You'll need to at least know your zip code, montly electric bill, and your electricity offset to get a worthwhile estimation.

The price of solar has consistently been falling since its inception. If you had a solar quote a few years ago, chances are things may have changed by now. There are many factors to consider when looking at the cost of solar. This only provides a rough estimate of the cost. Government funding varies by city, state, and whether you're a residential or commercial customer.

Recent inclusions passed in President Barrack Obama's Economic Stimulus bill include items such as cash grants, loans, tax breaks, and accelerated depreciation (all available nationwide). States such as California also have major solar incentives. Although this calculator provides a rough estimate of cost, you'll get much more accurate information from your local certified solar contractor, because the contractor will know what kind of incentives are available locally.

The Solar calculator can give you a ballpark estimate on the costs you may expect to install solar power for your home. To get a real estimate contact a local solar power contractor.

Keep in mind, the calculator may not always be up to date for new government incentives, or old ones that have expired, or it may not include them at all in the cost estimate. It does give a general guideline which helps predict a ballpark gross cost you may expect.
