Forum Ranks & Linking

Here's our forum ranks, for now it's just based on post count. As we gain more forum members we may adjust these ranks as needed to better reflect compare the activity of various members. Most likely, this current forum rank setup will not change. The idea here is that the forum rank should help new members quickly assess whether someone they are discussing a topic with is a new or older member of the forum. We may also considering adding a secondary ranking system that only includes licensed contractors, or other system that might be appropriate for the forum. This will only be done if we determine that the distinction is useful necessary.

You'll notice when someone is a moderator because (aside from the moderator tag), you'll see their name is a unique color, which differentiates them from a standard member.

Presently, the forum rank system is built in & automatic. So once you make the posts, your rank will automatically be adjusted.

External Forum Links

20 post minimum:

Should you put a link in any post, before you have 20 posts, your post will be deleted or edited, and you'll be possibly banned from use of the forum (banning will be at our discretion, and expect it to happen quickly if the link is offensive in any way). Only those of the "senior member" rank or higher (20 posts or more) put any links in their posts. Excessive linking, or 'spam' will not be tolerated. Linking is a privilege which we will allow our senior members to exercise, once they demonstrate a willingness to add useful content to our forum. We have put a lot of hard work into this forum, and we will not allow those that have contributed nothing to hijack our page rank.

Reciprocal Link Option

You MAY put a link to your related business site on your first post if you do so in our Contractor Directory, or if it truly fits the content of the post (we will delete or disable links at our discretion). To get a link in the contractor directory, we only ask that you provide a reciprocal link. Only reciprocal HTML links are allowed; if you use nofollow tags, javascript, or php code to hide our link, your link will not be allowed. In other words, we only ask an honest link, for a link in return.

Beware: the linking rules will be strictly enforced. Links to porn or other offensive materials will result in an insta-ban, and linking to any outside material will not be tolerated until you've demonstrated a willingness to truly contribute to the forum.

As a further update, only 1 link per post will be allowed--and this is after you've made at least 20 posts. (so your 21st post, may contain a link).

We cannot allow excessive external linking--So far this rule has been completely ignored by bots and spammers, and we have responded by banning these users and deleting their posts.

We have been working hard to develop worthwhile content on this forum, and although we don't mind external links here & there, we will identify you as a spammer & ban you if you start making external links on your very first post.
